Job Summary
Fire Alarm Systems Technician needed to program, commission, troubleshoot, and support complex fire alarm systems. Role involves coordinating with engineering, project management, and sales, producing field surveys and logs, delivering commissioning reports per NFPA, and ensuring on-time project execution within budget. Requires ability to program and commission mid-range systems, read fire system design drawings, knowledge of NFPA 72 and related code sections, OSHA 10, NICET I certification, and strong communication and organizational skills. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years experience in a technician role within the fire-life safety industry
- Ability to program and commission mid-range fire alarm systems independently
- Ability to terminate fire alarm control units and field equipment with minimal supervision
- Ability to read fire system design drawings
- Knowledge of NFPA 72 code requirements for the installation of a fire alarm system
- Knowledge of International Fire Code/International Building Code sections relevant to fire systems
- State, local, contract, and/or product specific certifications determined by the business
- OSHA safety standards and ability to obtain OSHA 10 certification
- Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
