Job Summary
Fire Alarm & Suppression Technician Level II responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, programming, and servicing fire alarm and engineered/pre-engineered suppression systems in compliance with NFPA standards. Duties include on-site and off-site troubleshooting, producing as-built drawings, documenting inspections and discrepancies, and training customers; maintain vehicle and equipment, evaluate additional equipment/services for customers, and adhere to safety programs. Role may require nights, weekends, or holidays, and travel to customer locations; must be comfortable with heights and confined spaces.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of fire detection and signaling systems experience, including at least 12 months in fire alarm systems (alarm and detection, notification, sprinkler monitoring, and interfaces and controls for agent releasing suppression systems) in installation, inspection, testing, commissioning, technical system estimating and sales, plans preparation, or maintenance
- Ability to calculate basic math (fractions, decimals, percentages)
- Knowledge of low voltage wiring and ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
- Must currently have a valid U.S. driver’s license
- NICET II Certification in Fire Alarm Systems (ideal)
- State license in the relevant state you’re applying
- Experience with electrical wiring and circuitry (desirable)
