Fire Alarm & Suppression Technician Level I

Job Summary
Perform installation, inspection, testing, programming, and repair of fire alarm and suppression systems in accordance with NFPA codes, manufacturer requirements, and local ordinances. Conduct final inspections, create as-built drawings, and provide customer training while troubleshooting emergency issues on-site or via phone. Document all discrepancies and recommendations, maintain customer relationships, and evaluate sites for additional equipment needs. Keep your vehicle stocked with parts and tools, and work in compliance with safety standards while operating in varying environments. Some nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 6 months of technical experience with fire detection and signaling systems
- NICET 1 Certification in Fire Alarm Systems
- Must possess the ability to calculate basic math including fractions, decimals and percentages
- Must possess the knowledge and ability to understand and operate basic computer functions, operating systems and software applications such as Windows, Word, Apple IOS, Android and Outlook
- Knowledge and understanding of low voltage and wiring
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams
- Must currently have a valid U.S. driver's license
- Must be able to successfully lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to successfully lift and carry toolboxes, equipment, parts, tools, equipment, cabling, and/or wiring
- Frequent ladder climbing and checking
- Pulling wire
- Walking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, and raising hands overhead
- Driving is required
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for this position in accordance with safety standards

Desired Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of experience with fire detection and signaling systems
- Experience with electrical wiring and circuitry
- State license where relevant in the state in which you are applying
