Job Summary
Install, test, and repair fire alarm, area of refuge, BDA/DAS, or similar systems; troubleshoot system malfunctions and false alarms; program multiple types of systems and test for proper operation; consult with clients on system issues and provide repair recommendations; read blueprints/building plans to determine appropriate installations; run wiring, install hardware, and ensure wiring integrity; inspect batteries and electrical wiring, perform adjustments and repairs; ensure compliance with NEC and NFPA fire codes; demonstrate system operation to end users; provide remote troubleshooting and on-site service; be on call as required; emphasize customer service and clear communication with clients in Richmond, VA, and surrounding areas.
Required Qualifications
- Two to three years of experience in servicing fire alarm, area of refuge, BDA/DAS, or similar systems
- Proficient in following written and verbal instructions
- Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills
- Ability to pass various background checks
- Reliable transportation and valid State Driver's License with acceptable driving record for use of company vehicle
- Be on call as required
