Job Summary
Inspect and test fire alarm systems, responding to scheduled and emergency service requests for troubleshooting, repair, and equipment replacement. Program low voltage systems including fire alarms, nurse calls, and access control while resolving problems through research of multiple alternatives. Communicate with contractors, building owners, and management to address on-site concerns and project status, interpreting blueprints, schematics, and operational manuals. Complete required company paperwork and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and lifting up to 75 lbs. Requires a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and minimum three years of experience in the Fire Alarm/Low Voltage industry.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Applicants must meet requirements in relation to background and driving record
- Must be proficient in the use and application of industry related equipment including MS Office
- Must have excellent communications skills, using tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers
- Regular, reliable, predictable attendance
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Fire Alarm/Low Voltage industry
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing a ladder, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc
- Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools as required and lifting to 75lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with the following manufacturers: Edwards/EST, Kidde, Notifier, FireLite, Bosch, Silent Knight, DSC, Telguard, and Gamewell/FCI is preferred
