Job Summary
Deliver small works projects involving the installation, modification, and commissioning of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems across Midlands sites. Act as the key point of contact for clients, managing project planning, quoting, material procurement, and risk assessments while ensuring all works comply with BS 5839 Part 1 and health & safety regulations. Monitor progress through site visits and documentation reviews, supporting junior engineers and mentoring them on technical skills. Manage electronic job sheets, commissioning records, and client sign-off to ensure successful delivery. This mobile role includes occasional travel beyond the Midlands, with support for a company van, tools, laptop, and phone.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years' experience working with fire alarm systems, including installation, upgrades, and commissioning across commercial, industrial, or residential environments
- relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Fire Alarm Systems or Electrical Installation and BS 7671 (17th/18th Edition)
- experience working with fire alarm systems such as Gent, Advanced, Kentec, Morley, or C-Tec
- confidence with both addressable and conventional systems
- strong understanding of BS 5839 Part 1
- ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and system designs
- full UK driving licence
- relevant site certifications such as CSCS/ECS
