Job Summary
Fire Alarm/Intrusion/Access Control Service Technician sought to install, troubleshoot, and maintain low-voltage cabling and equipment across retail locations in the U.S. Responsibilities include installing and upgrading fire alarm, intrusion, and access control systems; wiring, terminations, and testing to ensure compliance with electrical and fire codes; reading blueprints and site maps; collaborating with the Installation Team Lead/Project Manager to meet schedules; providing on-site and remote technical escalation; maintaining customer relationships; and traveling as required. Qualifications emphasize holding Utah Fire Alarm Inspecting and Testing certifications, field installation experience in security environments, NFPA knowledge (70/72), ability to read blueprints/site maps, experience with multiple Intrusion/Access system manufacturers (preferred NICET), valid driver’s license with clean record, and willingness to travel including overnight; a one-week orientation in Lowell, AR is required and a company vehicle provided after orientation.
Required Qualifications
- Hold valid certification from the state of Utah Fire Alarm Inspecting and Testing Certification program (Basic Fire Alarm Technician, Fire Alarm Technician or Master Fire Alarm Technician)
- Field installation experience in security environments: Fire Alarm /Intrusion / Access Control
- NICET certification (Preferred)
- Current/valid state required Physical Security license and/or Life Safety license in the applicable technology.
- Knowledgeable about NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72
- Experience reading blueprints and site maps
- Experience with multiple Intrusion/Access system manufacturers is a plus
- Travel and training availability
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years
- Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 25–30%) including overnight travel
- Company vehicle provided after orientation
- Ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling systems and equipment in IP Video, Access Control / Intrusion Alarm / LAN/WAN infrastructure, and wireless LAN
- Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings
- Complete wiring, connections/terminations, and equipment installations ensuring systems meet codes
- Adhere to safety requirements (OSHA)
- Customer relationship and communication skills
- Computer proficiency (basic Microsoft Office)
- Orientation and training in Lowell, Arkansas with eventual company vehicle
