Job Summary
Senior Fire Alarm Test & Inspect Technician performs independent inspections, testing, and advanced troubleshooting of fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes. Responsibilities include documenting inspection and deficiency reports, diagnosing system issues, performing repairs or recommending actions, interpreting blueprints and specifications, guiding and training Apprentices and Technicians, reviewing work for accuracy and compliance, communicating with customers/AHJs/internal teams, and traveling to job sites. Must maintain tools and adhere to safety policies; NI CET II preferred; may hold state/local licenses. Pay starts at $40+ DOE with benefits; company vehicle may be provided; equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a technician
- Minimum of three years programming commercial fire alarm systems
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 72 and local/state codes
- Ability to read complex system drawings and specifications
- Independent performance and decision-making in the field
- Clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving role)
