Job Summary
Install, inspect, and maintain fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with safety codes and correct functionality. Run wires, mount sensors and detectors, and install control panels according to blueprints. Configure panels to meet specific requirements, test system functionality with specialized equipment, and diagnose malfunctions through troubleshooting and repairs. Perform routine maintenance including cleaning devices and replacing batteries. Respond to emergency service calls to fix alarms and isolate suppression systems for outages. Keep accurate records of all installations, inspections, and repairs while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local fire safety codes. Work any shift based on work priority.
Required Qualifications
- High School Education
- five years' experience
- knowledge of electrical equipment
- circuits
- electronic components related to alarm systems
- NICET Certification (Level I)
- ability to obtain Level I Certification within six months of hire date
- maintain Level I Certification
- NICET Certification (Level II)
- ability to obtain Level II Certification within two years of hire date
- maintain Level II Certification
- Familiar with various types of sprinkler systems
- basic mathematical functions
- Extensive knowledge of applicable codes and standards
- ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- access to the AEDC local area network
- Current U. S. Citizenship
- ability to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy
Desired Qualifications
- Active secret security clearance
- NICET Certification (Level III)
