Job Summary
Install fire alarm, voice/data, and security systems, including commercial and industrial 3-phase electrical power systems. Troubleshoot circuit opens, shorts, or ground conditions while running wires, fish walls, and doors. Complete paperwork such as timesheets and expense reports, and keep as-built drawings current. Comply with industry standards, NFPA 70 and NFPA 72 requirements, and Sciens safety programs. Requires high school diploma, 1–3 years of experience, valid driver's license, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Earns $30–35 per hour with benefits including 401(k) matching and tuition reimbursement.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 to 3 years' experience as a Fire Alarm/LV Installer
- Solid working knowledge of commercial electrical systems
- Able to read blueprints, technical drawings, and diagrams and follow specifications
- Experience in termination of field devices
- State and locally required minimum certifications
- Intermediate knowledge of NFPA 70 and NFPA 72 installation requirements
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency
- Ability to work independently with some supervision
- Good organizational, decision-making, and communication skills
- Be physically fit to perform the demanding work of the trade, including frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, maximum occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
- able to work from heights and climb ladders
- standing and walking for most of the workday
- Ability to travel occasionally overnight, as needed
- Valid driver's license & reliable transportation
