Job Summary
Conduct inspections and tests of fire alarm systems, including visual inspections, functional testing, and sensitivity testing. Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of fire alarm equipment, identifying and troubleshooting issues to recommend necessary repairs or replacements. Verify and document system functionality to ensure compliance with NFPA codes and local regulations, preparing detailed inspection reports and maintenance records. Communicate findings to building owners and stakeholders while coordinating with contractors for scheduled repairs. Provide training to building personnel on proper system operation and stay updated on industry standards and technological advancements.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Technician, Fire Alarm Inspector, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, including installation, testing, and maintenance procedures
- Familiarity with NFPA codes and standards, as well as local fire codes and regulations
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
