Job Summary
Test and inspect commercial fire-alarm systems within assigned buildings, interpreting manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to identify malfunctions and report discrepancies. Operate systems to commission new installations, analyze performance, and ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations. Monitor fire-alarm panels and interact with building owners or engineers before, during, and after testing to maximize customer satisfaction. Review reports and initiate next steps while coordinating with supervisors to improve quality and scope. Maintain awareness of safety policies and utilize standard test instruments and hand tools to deliver results.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED or equivalent experience
- 1-2 years relevant experience
- Expert competency in Fire Alarm Systems
- Expert competency in NFPA
- Expert competency in Other Specialized Systems
- Exceptional customer focus
- Ability to work under pressure
- Solid test and inspection skills
- Experience with fire alarm systems
- Experience with electronic security systems
- Self-starter mindset
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision
- Solid mechanical aptitude
