Job Summary
Inspect, test, and document fire alarm system performance at customer sites while troubleshooting issues and responding to service or emergency calls, including night, weekend, or short-notice work. Program, service, and repair systems ranging from basic to complex without supervision, coordinating daily tasks with contractors, building staff, and internal personnel to ensure efficient completion. Identify non-compliant installations or maintenance gaps, communicate findings clearly, and make practical recommendations for system improvements to support safety and code adherence. Maintain accurate records of all work performed and findings for each visit. Requires three years of industry experience, valid driver's license, and knowledge of NFPA 72 and NEC standards. Salary commensurate with experience, ranging from $30 to $45 per hour with a performance bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Three years of fire alarm industry experience
- High school diploma
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Extensive knowledge of NFPA 72
- Extensive knowledge of NEC
- Knowledge of fire alarm system theory
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements
- Knowledge of industry standards for fire alarm system installation
- Hands-on experience with a variety of fire alarm system manufacturers
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Confidence working independently in the field
- Clear communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Habit of finishing tasks completely and accurately
- Ability to respond to service and emergency calls including night, weekend, or short notice work
