Job Summary
Fire Alarm Inspector is a field technician who tests and inspects fire alarm systems (control panels, initiating devices, and notification appliances) at customer sites in compliance with NFPA standards and ADS policies. Responsibilities include performing inspections, documenting results, identifying code violations, and conducting follow-ups for compliance; conducting acceptance testing for newly installed systems; issuing hazardous materials permits when applicable; and writing detailed inspection reports with recommended corrective actions. Requires punctuality, safe operation of tools/equipment, strong communication, and adherence to safety procedures; ability to communicate with customers and management; ability to work independently or as part of a team; and proficiency with testing equipment, mobile inspection software, and Microsoft Office. Physical demands include climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 lbs. On-site, in-person work environment with potential travel to customer locations; on-site parking and company-provided vehicle as applicable. Education and experience emphasize a high school diploma or equivalent, 1-2 years of customer service, and preferred associates degree with NICET certification considered advantageous.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma or equivalent is required
- Minimum of 1-2 years of customer service experience is required
- Associates Degree in Electrical and Electronic Systems Technology or related field is preferred
- Technical/vocational certification or training is preferred
- Experience in the alarm or security systems industry is a plus
- NICET Level 1 Certification or higher is a plus
