Job Summary
Fire Alarm Inspection Technician needed to test fire, security, and sprinkler systems in the Baltimore region. Responsibilities include testing electronic alarm systems (fire, security, access, sprinkler, etc.), generating documentation for system certification (work orders, deficiency reports, check-lists, and certification reports), operating/maintaining the company vehicle, communicating with ARK team members and customers about system status and importance, supervising an Assistant Tester to ensure proper certification of sprinkler systems, and performing minor repairs. Requires 3-5 years in the fire protection industry, knowledge of NFPA requirements, a valid driver’s license, ability to obtain Maryland and Virginia security technician licenses, and NICET II in water-based fire protection systems; physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work at heights. Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience within the fire protection industry
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to obtain Maryland and Virginia security technician license as required, sponsored by ARK
- NICET II in water-based fire protection systems
- Knowledge of NFPA alarm system requirements
- Ability to interpret code books and handbooks
- Knowledge of testing fire detection and protection equipment and systems
- Customer relations experience and skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to train assistant trainees
