Job Summary
Fire Alarm Engineer responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining, and servicing fire alarm panels, detectors, call points, and associated equipment across various sites in line with BS5839-1 and related standards. Must demonstrate extensive knowledge of addressable and conventional systems (Apollo, Advanced, Kentec, Morley, Gent, EMS), possess FIA Units 1-6, and hold an ECS Fire Alarm card with a full UK driving license. Role requires site travel, ability to read schematics/zone charts, interpret tender documents, plan and manage tasks to meet project milestones, and participate in health and safety meetings. Must be capable of testing systems post-installation, completing certification paperwork, and communicating effectively in English. Handover and collaboration with internal/external teams, and occasional out-of-hours work are anticipated.
Required Qualifications
- Full UK driving license
- Hold a current ECS Card (Fire Alarm)
- Knowledge of BS5839-1 and AOV systems
- Experience with programming, cause and effect
- BS5839-1:2025 implications
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical docs
- Strong communication skills in English
