Fire Alarm Designer

Job Summary
Design customized fire alarm systems for clients by conducting site surveys, reading blueprints and specifications, and coordinating with architects, engineers, and customers. Prepare shop drawings and detailed CAD schematics using AutoCAD, develop submittals and material lists, and ensure compliance with fire safety codes and manufacturer requirements. Stay updated on fire alarm technology and regulations, communicate effectively with officials and stakeholders, and apply analytical, drafting, and project-management skills to deliver safe, code-compliant fire alarm installations. Core duties include interpreting codes, preparing design submittals, and providing professional, customer-focused service to drive successful project outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
- NICET Certification in Fire Alarm Systems (Level II minimum preferred)
- Experience with Notifier, Siemens, Firelite, or Silent Knight fire alarm systems
- AutoCAD experience preferred
