Job Summary
FinOps & Accounting Analyst at a Sequoia-backed fintech startup. Own end-to-end accounting and financial operations tasks in a high-ownership, high-breadth role: review bookkeeper work, post ad-hoc journal entries, run weekly revenue analysis with BigQuery, manage cash reconciliations, process vendor invoices via Bill.com/Ramp, issue merchant invoices and follow up on payments, calculate referral fees, respond to merchant queries, support merchant onboarding with bank/settlement verification, investigate settlement discrepancies with payment partners, pull data for KYB/compliance, review sales tax filings, support Money Transmission License applications, and perform regular filing checks along with merchant settlement notifications. Requires 2+ years in accounting/fintech ops, strong attention to detail, comfort with spreadsheets and data (SQL/BigQuery a plus), familiarity with QBO/Bill.com/Ramp a bonus, and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field. Based in or able to work from New York City with hybrid work arrangement; visa sponsorship not available. What We’re Looking For: 2+ years of experience in accounting/finance/ops; strong attention to detail; SQL/BigQuery familiarity a plus; excellent communication skills; interest in payments/fintech; collaborative and autonomous work style.
