Job Summary
Finnish language instructor needed to teach adult professionals in Washington, DC, in-person at the ICLS schoolhouse. Teaching assignments may be full-time or part-time and include sessions for private students and small groups across a range of proficiency levels. Candidates should have a minimum of two years’ full-time experience teaching Finnish to adults, native-level Finnish proficiency, and at least a bachelor’s degree. Preferred qualifications include a postgraduate degree in teaching or second language acquisition, familiarity with the ILR scale, curriculum development experience, and experience preparing students for DoD and Foreign Service proficiency testing. Responsibilities include delivering engaging Finnish instruction, developing curriculum/materials, and supporting student outcomes; submit a cover letter with earliest availability and include a detailed teaching history on your resume.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years’ experience teaching Finnish to adults in a full-time setting
- Native-level proficiency in Finnish
- Possess at minimum a bachelor’s degree
- Legal Authorization to work in the United States
