Job Summary
Support cross-discipline technical teams in technology design, development, integration, and test by translating requirements into model inputs and validating designs using standard analysis tools. Collaborate with Program Managers and multidisciplinary groups to define project objectives, optimize system performance, and guide engineering decisions based on analytical insights. Deliver technical briefings to stakeholders and integrate emerging technologies into system-of-systems projects while adhering to defense industry standards. Toyon Research Corporation, a leader in complex space and missile systems analysis, seeks this specialist for in-person work at the Huntsville, AL office.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- Ability to qualify for a US Department of Defense security clearance
- SAP and SCI program eligibility
- In-person work availability
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years in aerospace or defense technology development
- Expertise in Finite Element Analysis with tools such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, or NASTRAN
- Proficiency with CAD software to manipulate models and navigate data management systems
- Knowledge of defense industry standards and compliance requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. degree
- Experience with SolidWorks and/or Creo
- Ability to quickly achieve proficiency in both CAD packages as necessary
- Experience with the mechanical evaluation and validation of mechanical, electrical, and RF systems
- Experience with correlating FEA models and empirical data
- Experience with advanced mesh tools such as FeMap, Apex or Hyperworks
