Job Summary
Finishing Technician 3 on 2nd shift responsible for the safe, high-quality painting of railcars. Duties include preparing cars for painting (caulking, masking, taping, protective coverings), operating paint equipment (cup gun, airless spray, plural component system, paint reclamation), logging paint usage, troubleshooting equipment, applying defect-free linings, applying decals and stencils, and maintaining and calibrating tools. Requires completing education/formal training requirements and PPE usage; may involve standing, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs; work environment includes outdoors/indoors with heavy equipment; overtime/ varied shifts possible. Required Qualifications
- One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successfully pass courses coordinated by CF Rail Management: training to set up and operate or drive equipment such as forklift, manlift, crane, back hoe, skid loader, hoist, hydraulic boom, etc.
- Hard Skills: ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials; basic math; mechanical aptitude; attention to safety and accuracy.
