Job Summary
Spot lenses to check power and prism measurements for accuracy, then inspect and pad block lenses using specialized blocking equipment. Operate edging equipment to edge lenses to proper specifications and utilize buffing equipment to polish lens edges before mounting. Clean and insert ophthalmic lenses into frames with precision while using a lensometer to verify treatments and frame alignment against prescription standards. This 1st shift role supports quality control in our lens manufacturing process, ensuring precision before AR coating. On-the-job training is provided for qualified candidates.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly
- Specific vision abilities required including close vision and ability to adjust focus
- Understanding of workplace safety programs
- Closed toe shoes and safety glasses when required
- Safe tool handling practices
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in optical/lens manufacturing
