Job Summary
Set up all sections of the folder gluer machine per job specification, including the Leary detection system, and adjust settings for various carton shapes to ensure proper folding and glue adhesion. Perform quality checks in full compliance with quality system requirements, record run data, and maintain accurate time sheets. Conduct routine maintenance, machine cleaning, and preventative inspections of the folder-gluer and gluing & detection systems while identifying deficiencies and requesting necessary repair parts. Oversee the work throughput and quality of assigned Folder Gluer Assistants and collaborate with Packaging Engineers and Sales personnel to develop new products.
Required Qualifications
- GED or High School Equivalent
- Must have basic computer skills or the ability to learn basic skills
- Excellent endurance to stand and move about the work area all day
- A high level of organization skills to make sure job is ready to go
- Must be able to work together as a Folder Gluer Team
- Can accept feedback and use it to grow in your position
- Must possess that natural ability to problem solve and find solutions
- Must possess a passionate and positive 'can do' attitude
- Must be self-motivated and driven
- Must show a willingness to work overtime when the workload makes it necessary to cover others on vacation or absent
- Must be able to bend, squat, climb up onto the machine as needed for repairs and/or general maintenance and set up
- Must use hearing protection while in production area
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Folding or Gluing Machine Operator at a printing company
- Reliability!
