Job Summary
Machine various glass optics using CNC milling machines and dicing saws while analyzing specifications to make adjustments for customer requirements. Execute beveling of glass optics and perform optical inspection and metrology using micrometers to ensure product quality meets precise standards. Recommend changes to support production and continuous improvement, and assist in the training of others within the Finishing production team. Comply with all health, safety, and PPE requirements while maintaining a clean and orderly workstation in a manufacturing environment. This role is part of the Life Science Optics Center of Excellence team, which focuses on high-end optics for life sciences.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident
- Three of more years experience in CNC machining or optical fabrication
- Proficient mathematics skills – add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Visual acuity and the ability to distinguish chromatic colors
- Very good manual dexterity
- Ability to work overtime as production schedules requires
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Demonstrate knowledge in the operation of CNC mills or dicing saws
- Ability to perform optical inspection and metrology using micrometers and other measurement tools
- Familiarity with optical manufacturing terminology and processes
