Job Summary

Review job tickets, specifications, and production schedules to ensure customer requirements are understood and priorities are communicated to the finishing team. Set up, operate, and troubleshoot finishing equipment to produce quality products while monitoring color, register, and cutting accuracy. Coordinate workflow within the department to maximize productivity, minimize downtime, and ensure timely completion of orders. Provide guidance, support, and day-to-day direction to Finishing Operators and helpers while training and cross-training employees on equipment and safe work practices. Complete load tags, tally sheets, and daily production documentation accurately. Operate material handling equipment to move product and maintain inventory of department supplies. Assist with production scheduling, prioritization of work, and communication of shift goals and operational issues. Promote compliance with facility safety policies, housekeeping requirements, and company standards. Serve as a resource for problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives within the finishing department.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read and interpret job tickets, specifications, production reports, and other operational documents
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret production data and reports
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle materials, tools, and equipment
  • Frequent reaching, talking, and hearing
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
  • Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or move up to 50 pounds
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of finishing, converting, cutting, or related manufacturing experience
  • Previous leadership, training, mentoring, or lead experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of finishing equipment, production processes, quality standards, and workflow coordination
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train employees and communicate expectations effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, coordinate activities, and support multiple production demands
