Finishing Assistant

Job Summary
Feed correct signatures into machines, down-pile completed books onto pallets, and down-pile mail according to postal regulations. Assist in cutting, folding, collating, stitching, and trimming of printed products while catching and removing completed pieces at delivery ends. Operate power pallet jacks and hand lift trucks to move stock, set up conveyors, and load stitcher pockets. Perform skid packing, labeling finished product, and plastic wrapping skids. Maintain a neat work area and navigate the facility to access all departments. Requires high school diploma, 1-3 years of manufacturing experience, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Occasional exposure to fumes, hazardous materials, and moving mechanical parts.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Full comprehension in reading work instructions and business memos
- Ability to use basic math skills to solve practical problems
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to work effectively in stressful situations and meet stringent deadlines
- Ability to push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling, and bending
- Fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity, and coordination
- Near visual acuity
- Ability to access and navigate each department in the facility
- Ability to function in a professional manner under stressful circumstances
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 1 - 3 years of previous manufacturing/office experience
