Job Summary
Finisher / Cement Mason to place, finish, and repair concrete for foundations, slabs, walls, sidewalks, curbs, and structural elements. Responsible for using hand and power finishing tools to create smooth, durable surfaces in accordance with project specifications and safety requirements. Responsibilities include spreading and leveling concrete, applying curing compounds or sealants, creating edges and joints, performing specialty finishes (exposed aggregate, broom, polished, etc.), preparing surfaces with forms and reinforcement, repairing surfaces, and ensuring elevations and finishing tolerances match drawings. Must read tape measures, perform basic math, follow safety policies, and communicate issues with mix quality or timing to the supervisor. Strong attention to detail, proficiency with concrete finishes, and the ability to work from drawings and specifications are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to frequently walk, bend, kneel, reach and climb
- Knowledge of concrete materials, mix designs, curing methods, and surface treatments
- Skilled in operating finishing equipment such as power trowels, floats, and screeds
- Familiarity with reading construction drawings, elevation benchmarks, and finish schedules
- Ability to work with different types of concrete finishes (e.g., smooth, broom, stamped, exposed aggregate)
- Strong attention to detail, quality workmanship, and safety
- Preference for minimum two years of concrete construction work experience as a Cement Mason
- Preference for certification in crane signaling and rigging
