Job Summary

Operate high-speed cutters, bale lines, presses, and locomotives to form pulp sheets, cut, prepare, and load products onto railcars or trucks. Run lab tests, perform switchman duties in a rail yard, and execute basic maintenance tasks while maintaining safety standards. Conduct firefighting training and emergency medical responder duties as part of the team. Work rotating 12-hour night and day shifts with 14/28-day on-call rotations, including expected overtime. Deliver an excellent product to customers within a 24-hour operation at the Grande Prairie Pulp Mill.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform duties with little supervision
  • Proactive approach to troubleshooting/problem identification
  • Able to perform physically demanding work
  • Demonstrated safety awareness
  • The ability to work closely with others in a team environment
  • Strong learning orientation and ability to adapt to change
  • Commitment to attain, maintain and apply Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) skills
  • Commitment to attain, maintain and apply all Dry End and/or Wet End process skills
  • Operate forklift and a locomotive
  • Operate Cutter and Bale Line equipment
  • Take process samples and accurately complete lab tests
  • Perform switchman duties in a rail yard
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks
  • Stay current on safety, process and business information
