Job Summary
Perform assigned welding techniques with high attention to detail, including MIG and TIG operations on parts and assemblies for Technical Glass Products. Coordinate with supervisors and weld prep for scheduling, check materials for defects, and verify operations against documents while reporting inconsistencies. Operate equipment per Standard Operating Procedures, maintain tools, organize the welding area, and initiate corrective actions for Non-Conformance Reports. Perform metal finishing work using manual and power tools, write SOPs, and train additional team members. Work Monday through Thursday from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM with overtime as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience with MIG and/or TIG welding
- Proficiency with MIG and thin gauge welding techniques
- Proficiency with sanding and grinding techniques
- Attention to detail and the ability to read blueprints, production and technical drawings
- Ability to complete assigned tasks in a limited time frame
- Strong organizational and math skills
- Remains alert in a high-risk environment
- Assesses priorities to determine what is urgently needed
- Maintains schedule and tasks despite interruptions
- WABO certification
- Technical Degree in Welding
- Experience in aluminum and/or metal finishing
- Experience with stainless steel
- Experience working with galvanized material
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle parts and tools with precision
- Repetitive Motion: Perform repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, lifting, gripping, and grasping with hands
- Standing Duration: Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per shift
- Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Use of overhead crane and forklift with training
