Finish Technician Level 1

Job Summary

Conduct finish polishing, sanding, and deburring on aluminum parts while inspecting welded components for aesthetic quality. Apply body/two-part epoxy filler to cover cracks and defects, ensuring proper paint adhesion. Maintain a clean deburr area by disposing of scrap metal and debris, and organize finish tools and part stacks for press brakes. Perform clerical duties including assembling shop orders, printing labels, and managing office inventory. Collaborate with appointed employees to verify shop order quantities and ensure timely completion of tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • A 2-year technical degree is preferred for this position but not required
  • Basic knowledge of working with any kind of finish polishing or sanding, including using a hand file
  • Must be familiar with how paint lays over aluminum parts and how that may affect the esthetic appearance after paint
  • Must be familiar with using body/two-part epoxy filler to cover cracks and other defects on aluminum parts
  • Must possess proficient and knowledgeable skills for electrical and/or mechanical assemblies and possess excellent eye hand dexterity
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently

Desired Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent and work experience is acceptable
