Finish Grade Dozer Operator

Job Summary
Operate dozer and heavy grading equipment to complete fine grading tasks in challenging terrain, performing daily pre- and post-inspections with appropriate documentation. Maintain equipment through servicing and maintenance as directed, while following all OSHA, MSHA, and environmental regulations for safe working procedures. Communicate effectively with supervisors and fellow workers, using both hands and feet to read grade stakes, hear commands, and respond to alarms. Fulltime day shift position in Huntsville, AL with overtime, weekend, and night availability. Requires 2-3 years of finish grading experience, valid driver's license, and ability to work independently in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in finish grading
- Dedication to working safely at all times
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and nights when necessary
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to distinguish and understand signals
- Ability to read and understand grade stakes
- Ability to use both hands and feet at the same time
- Ability to work in an environment with noise levels that may require hearing protection
- Ability to hear and understand commands from supervisors, warnings from fellow workers, and alarms on equipment
- Ability to use mechanic's hand tools and tape measure
- Ability to crawl and climb on, over, under and inside construction equipment
- Lift and carry objects and materials of various weights up to 100 pounds
- Good vision, both close-up and long-distance, and ability to look forward, side to side, and toward the rear of equipment
- Good reliable transportation to make it to and from work
- Self-motivation to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed
- Ability to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required
