Job Summary
Finish Grade Dozer Operator responsible for operating dozers for rough and finish grading to required elevations, reading grade stakes and plans, coordinating with surveyors and crew, performing daily equipment inspections, and maintaining safety. Role supports building pads, roads, berms, and general site prep on civil construction projects; requires 2-3 years of dozer experience, ability to read grade stakes/plans, English fluency, physical capability to lift 25 kg, and adherence to safety practices; pre-employment screening may be required.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years experience operating dozers (finish grade experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of grade control, slopes, and elevations
- Ability to read grade stakes / plans
- Experience working on civil or underground utility projects is an asset
- Safety tickets (CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid, Ground disturbance) considered an asset
- Strong awareness of site safety and hazard recognition
- Follow directions that are spoken or given by hand signals
- Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg
- Able to sit for long period of time in cramped spaces
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments
- Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies
- Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Candidates may be required to complete a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screen and/or criminal record check
