Fine Arts Library Assistant Federal Work Study

Job Summary
Answer basic directional, circulation, and library policy questions at the Information and Services Desk. Charge, discharge, renew, and retrieve library materials while helping patrons locate items in the stacks. Provide assistance with printers and other library technology, then record question types and collect statistics through library software. Assist in opening or closing the library during first or final shifts and maintain the orderly appearance of the space. Retrieve books, search for lost items, and support special projects and occasional shelving. Work independently from August 25th, 2026, through the last day of Spring 2027 exams, adhering to a minimum of 6 hours per week with a maximum of 20 hours.
Required Qualifications
- undergraduate student
- federal work-study eligibility
- current UVA undergraduate student
- enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours
- Must be a current UVA undergraduate student enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours
- Federal Work-Study eligibility is required
- Must work a minimum of 6 hours a week
- maximum of 20 hours/week
- including weekends
- during exam periods
- Be available to work from the date of hire through the last day of exams for Spring 2027
