Job Summary
Process member transactions and inquiries on the Teller line, including deposits, withdrawals, cashing checks, and posting loan payments. Serve as the primary point of contact for new membership accounts and product education. Manage assigned cash reserves, maintain key controls, and ensure accurate balancing of negotiable items. Open new accounts for checking, money market, and investment certificates while handling requests for deceased accounts and fraud situations. Comply with applicable laws and regulations including the Bank Secretary Act and Patriot Act. This role supports Monterra Credit Union's mission of delivering tailored financial products and education to help members achieve their goals.
Required Qualifications
- Some cash handling experience
- Minimum six months experience as a teller
- One-year experience in financial institution
- Excellent member service skills
- Basic knowledge of financial products and services
- Strong organization, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strong cross-servicing skills
- Provide high levels of thoroughness and accuracy
- Must be proficient in the use of a PC with Windows-based programs
- Ability to speak fluently in Spanish and English
- Must be available for overtime
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 5 pounds
