Job Summary
Process member transactions and inquiries on the Teller line, including deposits, withdrawals, cashing checks, and posting loan payments. Serve as the primary point of contact for new membership accounts and product inquiries, cross-selling financial services while ensuring accurate cash handling and reserve balancing. Maintain strict adherence to security protocols, dual custody controls, and regulatory compliance regarding the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act. Provide general instruction on credit union policies and handle requests for new accounts, deceased accounts, and fraud situations. Requires fluent bilingual communication in English and Spanish, proficiency in Windows-based PC programs, and strong interpersonal skills. Full-time role located in the Bay Area with a starting salary of $22.00 - $25.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Some cash handling experience
- Minimum six months experience as a teller
- One-year experience in financial institution
- Excellent member service skills
- Basic knowledge of financial products and services
- Strong organization, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strong cross-servicing skills
- Provide high levels of thoroughness and accuracy
- Must be proficient in the use of a PC with Windows-based programs
- Ability to speak fluently in Spanish and English
- Employee must occasionally work overtime
- Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 5 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum six months experience as a teller or one-year experience in financial institution is preferred
- Ability to speak fluently in Spanish and English is preferred
