Financial Reporting Manager

Job Summary
Oversee the preparation of periodic financial statements, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in line with IFRS and applicable accounting standards. Coordinate external audits, manage joint venture partner reporting, and support cost recovery processes while ensuring compliance with local Nigerian tax laws and global industry standards. Develop financial controls, lead budgeting and forecasting initiatives, and supervise a team of financial reporting professionals. Drive ERP optimization, process standardization, and digitalization to enhance reporting accuracy and reduce cycle times. Requires a chartered accountant with 12 years of experience in financial reporting, including at least five years in the oil and gas upstream sector, and proficiency in ORACLE Accounting Systems and MS Office.
Required Qualifications
- A chartered accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA)
- Accounting, Audit & Financial Reporting background
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, accounting, or auditing
- At least 5 years in the oil and gas industry or a related sector
- Previous industry knowledge with minimum of four years' experience in Financial Reporting
- Detailed knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Knowledge of oil and gas upstream
- Oil and Gas Upstream Tax Laws
- Good working knowledge of ORACLE Accounting Systems
- Good working knowledge of Sun Systems
- Good working knowledge of MS Office programs especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques
- Comprehensive understanding of local Nigerian tax laws
- Comprehensive understanding of financial regulations
- Comprehensive understanding of reporting requirements
- Strong ability to analyze complex financial data
- Proven track record of improving processes
- Proven track record of driving financial performance
