Financial Reporting Manager

Job Summary
Develop and maintain financial control systems to ensure accurate reporting and identify compliance risks. Lead month-end, year-end, and audit processes, preparing consolidated statements and footnotes while reviewing reports for GASB, GAAP, and regulatory adherence. Manage process changes to improve efficiencies and reduce low-value activities. Serve as an online bank account administrator, handling transfers and balance maintenance. Create and manage financial models to support budget and forecasting activities, leading analytical reporting of actual results versus budgets. Advise staff on non-routine transactions and resolve complex accounting issues. Collaborate with the Financial Services Division and other departments to implement MCCNO policies and procedures. Participate in personnel decisions, including selection, promotion, and discipline, while overseeing training and performance appraisals for assigned staff. Maintain accurate documentation of all disciplinary actions and foster a motivated work environment.
Required Qualifications
- thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
- ability to identify and communicate risks and issues impacting financial reporting compliance
- ability to manage process changes to improve efficiencies and reduce low value activities
- ability to serve as an online bank account administrator
- ability to lead the month-end, year-end and audit process including preparation of consolidated financial statements, footnotes and supporting documentation
- ability to ensure that general ledger transactions are recorded in accordance with governmental and state guidelines
- ability to review month and year-end financial statements and reports to ensure compliance with GASB, GAAP, and regulatory agencies
- ability to maintain relationship with external auditors
- ability to gather and analyze information skillfully
- ability to prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently
