Job Summary
Financial Reporting Manager at DigitalOcean responsible for leading SEC filings (10-K/10-Q/8-K), drafting disclosures aligned with US GAAP, preparing financial statements and cash flow, and coordinating the quarterly reporting cycle. You will liaise with external auditors, perform disclosure research, supervise monthly close activities, mentor junior staff, and drive process enhancements and automation in SEC reporting and internal controls (SOX). Requires 5-8 years of accounting, including at least 4 years in SEC reporting, a BS in Accounting/Finance, and strong US GAAP knowledge; CPA preferred. This is a remote role with Denver-area locations listed for administrative purposes. You will work cross-functionally with Legal, FP&A, Investor Relations, Tax, and Accounting, demonstrating self-direction, attention to detail, and excellent communication in a fast-paced technology environment.
Required Qualifications
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience with minimum 4 years direct SEC reporting experience
- B.S. in Accounting or Finance
- Active CPA license strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience researching and drafting financial statements
- Experience with SEC reporting software (Workiva, Intelligize)
- ERP systems experience (Oracle Fusion) and advanced Excel
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well-organized with excellent time management and attention to detail
- Ability to mentor and develop junior staff
- Experience in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Experience liaising with external auditors and coordinating audits/reviews
- Knowledge of internal controls and SOX compliance
- Experience with quarterly reporting cycles and disclosure research
- Experience drafting new disclosures aligned to US GAAP
- Experience with journal entries and account reconciliations
- Preference for background in public accounting or high-growth tech firms
