Financial Reporting Accountant

Job Summary
Conduct monthly bank reconciliations, GL account reconciliations, and operational reviews using accrual accounting. Create journal entries and adjustments to ensure monthly statements are accurate and complete. Review and test internal controls, analyze processes, and address deficiencies by communicating with operational staff and leaders. Assist with month-end and quarter-end tasks, supporting documents for auditors, and preparing financial statements and public disclosure documents. Support IT automation initiatives as required. Proficiency with Office 365 and accounting software is necessary. Minimum 2 years with a publicly traded company is an asset, along with prior real estate accounting or property management experience. Recent CPA or working towards designation is considered an asset.
Required Qualifications

- Prior real estate accounting/property management experience
- Recent CPA or working towards designation
- Proficiency with Office 365 (Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Knowledge with accounting software and working in a fast-paced computer environment
- Sound analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and time-management skills
- Ability to adapt to new software
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload, and the workloads of others
- Experience and judgement dealing with accounting issues
- Deadline and goal oriented
- Ability to work independently and with other Associates in a team environment
- Passionate and eager to take on new challenges
- Must be able to relocate
- Must be available to start work if an offer is presented
- Must pass satisfactory Security Background Checks
- Must pass Reference Checks
- Must pass Pre-employment Physical Testing where applicable
Desired Qualifications
