Job Summary
Review clients' current portfolio design, understand goals, enter data, and conduct financial analysis for portfolio design, retirement planning, risk management, and estate planning. Evaluate individual and employer-based retirement needs, research options, and recommend planning alternatives tailored to short and long-term financial goals. Prepare presentations communicating recommendations, perform document reviews, and write customized financial plan observations. Monitor clients' financial situations with detail, respond to questions via phone or email, and educate clients on securities markets and funding options like 529 plans. Conduct research on tax and legal issues, coordinate communications, and manage account records including opening, transferring, and closing customer accounts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Three years' experience in the financial services industry with an emphasis on financial, retirement and estate planning field or in marketing these services
- An equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training as approved by Human Resources
- SIE required provided that an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied
- Series 7
- Series 63, 65 and/or 66 as required by state or ability to obtain within six months
- Bachelor's: Accounting

- Perform detailed document reviews
- Analyze client information and situations across the financial planning spectrum to develop plan
- Research information as necessary on a case-by-case basis and write customized financial plan observations and recommendations for each client case
- Prepare files for meetings with existing and new clients
- Prepare, coordinate and follow through on any needed communication with new or existing clients
- Continuously monitor clients' financial situations with detail and accuracy, with the ability to the look at their overall financial picture
- Respond to client questions by telephone, email and occasional personal visits
- Educate client on the functions of various securities markets and the principal factors that affect them
- Provide guidance on estate planning options and techniques
- Respond to and direct education funding questions including 529 savings plans
- Assist with guidance on small business planning
- Conduct research as needed related to assigned client cases, including but not limited to basic income tax questions and other legal issues requesting guidance when appropriate
- Participate in client presentations
- Open, transfer, and close customer accounts and maintain appropriate account records
- Obtain and verify the client's purchase and sale instructions, enter orders, and follow up on completion of transactions
- Ensure firm and regulatory policies are followed within compliance standards
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
