Job Summary
Manager, FP&A leads budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and management reporting for Hillwood Energy. Partners with operating teams to translate operational data into accurate financial projections, develops dashboards and KPI reporting for senior leadership, mentors FP&A analysts, and drives automation and AI-enabled insights. Requires strong financial modeling, GAAP knowledge, ERP experience, and oil & gas industry familiarity; interacts with CFO/CAO and executive leadership; location is Fort Worth, TX; role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and strategic financial planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required; MBA or CFA designation a plus
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, or related finance and accounting roles
- Oil and gas industry experience required (upstream E&P strongly preferred)
- Prior experience managing or mentoring junior team members required
- Demonstrated experience in a lead FP&A role with responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
- Knowledge of financial planning software (Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, or similar) a plus
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis techniques
- Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, complex formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation)
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Ability to synthesize large volumes of financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present to executive leadership
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Understanding of upstream oil and gas cost structures, performance metrics, and economics
- Willingness to learn and apply new tools, including AI, automation, and data visualization technologies
