Job Summary
Financial Planner at New York Life responsible for identifying and securing new client relationships, delivering insurance, investment, and retirement planning solutions, and guiding clients toward their financial goals. Responsibilities include assessing client cash flow and financial status, developing customized plans based on life stage and needs, explaining features of insurance and investments, developing portfolios and high-level sales presentations, pursuing client acquisitions, and meeting monthly sales targets. Requires strong communication, math, and relationship-building skills, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, proficiency with Office/CRM/financial planning tools, and a willingness to grow through training; FINRA licenses are a bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or related analytical field is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, financial planning software, Google Suite, and other tools strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of financial products, the financial industry, personal financial advisor or financial planner responsibilities
- Up-to-date FINRA Series 7 & 63/66 documents are a bonus
- Superior communication, relationship-building, and math skills; strong customer service foundation
- Interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Driven, motivated, and coachable
- Be willing to help others
- New York Life will pay and cover all expenses for training and the exam
- Sales: 1 year (preferred)
