Financial Operations Manager

Job Summary
Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, and financial reporting functions to ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual statements. Lead the month-end and year-end close processes while developing, documenting, and maintaining formal accounting policies and procedures. Supervise finance department staff, establish performance standards, and mentor team members. Monitor firm performance metrics including WIP, AR aging, cash flow, and expense trends to support leadership decision-making through financial modeling and variance analyses. Identify areas of financial or operational risk, recommend corrective actions, and ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. Oversee cash management, bank reconciliations, and banking relationships while evaluating and implementing automation improvements within financial systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of five years' experience performing financial and accounting functions of varying complexity
- Demonstrated experience developing financial policies and procedures
- Experience within a public accounting firm
