Job Summary
Director to join BlackRock's Financial Markets Advisory (FMA) in New York. Lead multi-disciplinary advisory engagements, shape the Americas strategy, manage large project teams, engage senior client stakeholders, drive meaningful commercial impact, and mentor staff. Collaborate across Capital Markets, Aladdin, and Research to deliver high-quality advisory outcomes, develop new offerings or partnerships, and translate ideas into scalable advisory or investment opportunities. Requires senior leadership experience, deep capital markets knowledge, and a proven track record of expanding senior client relationships and generating revenue.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in the financial sector, with a preference for investment or corporate banking, strategy consulting, advisory or investment experience.
- Demonstrated record of commercial impact, including business building, revenue generation, or expansion of senior client relationships.
- Deep understanding of capital markets, with broad-based experience across a range of asset classes, including in private markets.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous environments, with the judgement and drive to build new client solutions or offerings where no predefined playbook exists.
- Strategic mindset, with the ability to operate as a trusted advisor to senior executives and to shape longer-term agendas.
- Strong entrepreneurial orientation, with a track record of identifying opportunities and translating them into tangible outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and coach diverse teams in a high-intensity environment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, intellectual curiosity and sound judgement.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex issues clearly for senior audiences.
- Strong organizational skills, resilience under pressure, and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong quantitative and technical skills, with a passion for finance, markets and/or sustainability concepts.
