Job Summary
Financial Manager - Product & Inventory focused on operational finance for product/inventory-driven businesses. Responsible for data management, dashboards and reporting, variance analysis, and AI-enabled workflows to accelerate data processing, reconciliation, and reporting. Works with cross-functional teams including C-Suite and clients, emphasizes automation, process improvement, and scalable finance operations in a hybrid Stellenbosch-based role. Emphasizes stock/COGS, multi-channel complexity, and a non-traditional accounting emphasis with a strong emphasis on using modern tools and AI to increase leverage while maintaining quality.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Accounting, Management Accounting, or Finance
- 2+ years of post-articles work experience OR 5+ years of relevant experience (without a professional qualification)
- Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and operational finance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools
- Hands-on experience with e-commerce, distribution, or any product/inventory-driven business
- Stock, cost of goods sold, fulfillment, and multi-channel complexity experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
- Project Management Skills: We need finishers!
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment
- Curious, slightly geeky, and ambitious. Enjoys learning, experimenting, and improving systems
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of post-articles work experience OR 5+ years of relevant experience (without a professional qualification)
- CIMA accredited or working toward it is a plus, not a requirement
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
- Project Management Skills: We need finishers!
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools
- Very comfortable in computer-first environments, with a natural interest in technology, tools, and systems
- Strong with modern tools and AI, and excited about using them to work faster and with more leverage
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment
- Curious, slightly geeky, and ambitious. Enjoys learning, experimenting, and improving systems
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required
- Hands-on experience with e-commerce, distribution, or any product/inventory-driven business is a strong advantage
