Job Summary
Investigate and handle genuine financial lines claims using a proactive, best-practice approach aligned with AIG quality standards. Proactively identify and review suspect or fraudulent claims consistently, while managing regular contact with internal stakeholders, brokers, experts, and external lawyers. Build effective relationships with customers to act as a point of referral and support Team Managers by deputizing in their absence. Monitor market and industry practices in claims handling to assist with product improvements. Requires knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements, specialist financial lines technical claims expertise, and negotiation skills. Primarily in-office role.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of legal / regulatory and litigation / procedural requirements for Financial Lines
- Specialist knowledge of Financial Lines technical claims topics
- Experience in negotiation, mediation, and arbitration
- Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation
- Lateral thinking and the ability to problem solve and develop new ideas to improve working practices
- Strong communication, time management, administrative and report-writing skills
- Must be primarily in the office
Desired Qualifications
- Experience providing support to Team Managers and deputizing in their absence
- Experience monitoring market/industry practices in claims handling
- Experience helping improve products in collaboration with colleagues in underwriting
