Job Summary
Acts as customer service agent for health system billing, handling outbound and inbound calls to patients with balances to collect payment or set up payment arrangements. Documents all patient interactions into EMR, answers questions regarding insurance, billing, balances, and pricing, assists with MyChart setup, and covers front desk for financial questions. Utilizes hospital billing systems and call software, works with interpreters as needed, and contributes to training of staff. Maintains HFMA certification and ongoing education; supports the organization’s customer service philosophy and standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- HFMA: CRCR - Within 1 year of hire into job
- Strong aptitude with Microsoft Access
- One to two years’ experience working with public and experience in patient registration and/or hospital patient accounting office
