Job Summary
Conduct thorough Blockchain Tracing investigations into potential financial crimes, including AML, fraud, and sanctions violations. Analyze cryptocurrency transactions and wallet addresses using blockchain explorers and analytics tools to track illicit activity. Ensure clients meet regulatory standards by performing EDD/CDD checks, KYC assessments, and source of funds analysis. Draft and submit SARs to relevant authorities while identifying and assessing risks across client portfolios. Investigate high-volume or high-value transactions to identify red flags. Work closely with regulatory agencies and financial institutions to ensure compliance with global AML and CFT regulations. This remote, project-based role offers $50/hr-$60/hr with no sponsorship available.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Financial Crime; either directly with a bank/financial institution or via a third party providing consulting services
- Strong background in AML, CTF or Sanctions, with an understanding of the compliance and regulatory frameworks that apply
- Familiarity with blockchain forensics tools such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, or CipherTrace to trace and analyze crypto transactions
- Knowledge of global regulatory frameworks for crypto – understanding of evolving cryptocurrency regulations, including FATF's Travel Rule, KYC/AML compliance for digital assets, and the legal landscape around crypto in different regions
- Experience in developing risk mitigation strategies for crypto-based financial crimes, including fraud prevention and transaction monitoring in the crypto space
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
