Financial Crime Controls and Testing Analyst

Job Summary

Support the delivery of the Bank's Financial Crime Quality Assurance and Quality Control program by designing, maintaining, and executing a comprehensive QA/QC framework. Perform quality assurance reviews of Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Fraud Prevention, OFAC, Customer Identification Program, and Customer Due Diligence compliance for the Bank and its third-party partners. Conduct root-cause analysis to identify systemic issues, recommend process improvements, and validate adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements. Partner with the Financial Crime team, Compliance, Operations, and business line leaders to address gaps and support continuous improvement of the financial crimes risk management framework. Assist in validating model and system settings related to AML and fraud monitoring tools while ensuring controls align with Fair Access Banking principles.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in BSA/AML, fraud, risk, controls, or QA within a banking or financial services environment
  • Strong understanding of Financial Crime risk assessment frameworks
  • Familiarity with Fair Access Banking principles, consumer protection laws, and regulatory expectations
  • Strong analytical skills with experience reviewing complex monitoring alerts, investigations, and transactions
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Risk Management, or related field
  • Equivalent work experience (to Bachelor's degree)
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to research and comprehend a high level of knowledge in current and developing regulations
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationship at all levels
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing environments, processes, and technologies
  • Technological ability and willingness to work remotely from home as required
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure or adverse circumstances
  • Ability to maintain personal and work direction when faced with ambiguity
  • Ability to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs
  • Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators
  • Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary
  • Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance
  • Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise
  • Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision
  • Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions
  • Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics
  • Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence
  • Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside the organization
  • Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities
  • Must be capable of exercising the highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters
