Job Summary
Interview patients to verify registration accuracy and determine eligibility for financial assistance programs including Charity Care, HCAP, and Medicaid. Educate patients on coverage benefits, financial responsibility, and available options while quoting accurate prices and estimates. Collect copayments, deductibles, and outstanding balances, then assist patients in setting up payment plans. Collaborate with departments such as Care Management, Insurance Verification, Patient Accounting, and Registration to facilitate timely billing. Complete assigned workqueues and reports ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Requires 2-3 years of experience in Service Access or Patient Accounting with a high school degree.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or GED in General Studies
- Ability to operate multiple computer applications
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Basic understanding of medical insurance
- Medical terminology
- 2-3 years experience Service Access, Patient Accounting or related field
- 2-3 years experience Customer Service
- Travel- Often/Regularly
